Rower Marjuki won Indonesia's first gold medal at the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in Singapore on Saturday.
Marjuki won the individual men's rowing competition match in four minutes 2.349 seconds, beating Thai Thant Zino, who grabbed the silver medal in four minutes and 6.707 seconds, and Filipino Hernie Macaranas, who got the bronze medal in four minutes and 8.294 seconds.
"This is my first gold at the SEA Games and I am very proud of it," Marjuki said as quoted by kompas.com.
He revealed that he trained intensively at home before leaving for Singapore.
Besides Marjuki's gold, Indonesia's oarsmen have contributed two silvers and one bronze to the country's medal tally.
