SEA Games soccer live on okto TV

SINGAPORE - Singapore football fans can now follow the SEA Games football action live on terrestrial television after experiencing problems streaming it from MediaCorp's Toggle website on Sunday.

The national broadcaster announced yesterday that the Young Lions' Group A match against Vietnam today will be shown live on okto as well as on Toggle at 8.10pm. It will also be on delayed telecast on Ch5 at 10.30pm.

There will also be live coverage of Singapore's remaining games against Brunei (Friday, 8.10pm, on okto, delayed at 11.30pm on Ch5) and Malaysia (Sunday, 5.25pm, on Ch5 and Toggle).

On Sunday, Toggle's live streaming website experienced a technical glitch, leaving fans frustrated and unable to watch Singapore's SEA Games opener - a 1-1 draw - against Laos.

However, viewers were still able to watch the game via the Toggle app on tablets and smart phones. That caused an uproar as irate fans took to social media to express their unhappiness.

At press time, MediaCorp did not respond to queries on what caused the technical error on Toggle's streaming website and why it chose to show the game live online rather than on terrestrial television originally.

On Sunday, as Toggle's website remained down, more than 9,600 fans turned to SingaporeSports' YouTube channel, which streamed the Singapore-Laos game live.
