Shooter Jasmine Ser is bracing herself for "more challenging times" leading up to the Rio Olympics in 2016.
Chief among them are six changes to the rules.
A shooter's qualifying score will no longer be carried over into the final and all finals will now feature eliminations, ending with duels between the two best athletes to decide the gold and silver medals.
Ser was among the inaugural batch of 66 scholars who received their Sports Excellence Scholarship certificates from Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Lawrence Wong at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Tjeday.
The 23-year-old will go for more training stints abroad in addition to competitions, as she builds towards Rio 2016.
Ser, who took part in her first Olympics last year in London, will start with a three-week training stint with the American national team in Colorado in February next year.
She will also have similar stints in Germany and the Czech Republic next year.
