Singapore champions for Tiger Street Football to take part in finals

SINGAPORE - The champions for Tiger Street Football have emerged. Team MNA won the third Tiger Street Football event held at Marina Bay Sands on Friday.

MNA defeated team Dorset Boyz (A) with a scoreline of 8-6.

The National Finals featured 32 teams in 5-a-side street football games.

The game is usually played in a unique caged, hard-court pitch with no sidelines and comprises two 6-minutes halves with a 2-minutes halftime period.

Former Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro, the ambassador of this year's Tiger Street Football, took part in a celebrity match with members of the media as well as current and former players from the Singapore National Football Team including Juma'at Jantan, Isa Halim and Lionel Lewis.

As winners of the tournament, team MNA was presented a cheque of $3,711 by Fabio Cannavaro and will represent Singapore in the Tiger Street Football Grand Finals in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in November.
