SINGAPORE national shooter Jasmine Ser returned home to a warm welcome yesterday, after she clinched a gold medal in the final shooting competition - the 50m rifle, three positions - at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games on Tuesday.

Returning with four other shooters, the 23-year-old National University of Singapore business graduate was greeted by Ng Ser Miang, chairman of the International Olympic Committee's finance commission, and officials from the Singapore Shooting Association.

The swimming contingent also returned to Singapore yesterday morning.

Silver medallist Joseph Schooling, however, returned to the United States as he prepares for college life at the University of Texas.
