Singapore's diving team will lose head coach in Aug

Singapore's diving team will be losing its head coach in mid-August.

Xu Jie will be leaving his current post as head coach and will be returning to Canada, said a statement by the Singapore Swimming Association (SSA) released on Wednesday.

"Despite his and our wishes to continue his good work, his desire to return home to be with his family became the biggest factor in his decision to leave in mid-August", said SSA in the statement.

Xu Jie had moved to Singapore in 2011 and has spent the last five years building a successful squad.

In the recently concluded 28th SEA Games held in Singapore, the team won three silver and four bronze medals, behind top diving nation Malaysia.

"We wish him all the best and thank him for all his hard work and support", said SSA.
