One of Singapore's most prestigious and oldest horseracing events, the 19th edition of the Emirates Singapore Derby came to a successful finish today with more than 400 guests present to witness the exhilarating on-track and offtrack action.

Ridden by jockey M. Nunes, Spalato galloped to victory, recording a time of 2:02.40 minutes to complete the 2,000m race, followed by Stepitup and Magical Talent in second and third place respectively.

With S$1.15 million offered in prize money, the Emirates Singapore Derby is the second richest domestic race, and forms the final and longest leg of the Singapore Four-Year- Old Challenge - a series of three races run over varying distances and restricted to fouryear- old horses.
