SINGAPORE - He became a LionsXII fan favourite with his penchant for scoring important goals during the 2012 Malaysian Super League season.
After spending the past year at Warriors FC, Sufian Anuar (right) is now back in the LionsXII fold.
The striker is new coach Fandi Ahmad's first signing ahead of the 2014 MSL season.
"I'm delighted to be back with the LionsXII. I missed so many things about the MSL - the fans, the travelling, and the atmosphere," Sufian said.
"When Fandi called me, I didn't need to think twice before deciding to sign."
The 26-year-old was released by the Warriors at the end of the S-League season in October.
Sufian began the year well, scoring four goals for the club in his first five matches, but soon lost his touch after getting married in June.
He totalled just six in all competitions in the end.
"It just didn't happen for me with the Warriors," explained Sufian, who is known for his tenacity and work ethic up front.
"I tried really hard, but my form wasn't there. Now, with the LionsXII, I just want to prove myself again." Fandi said he was pleased to add an experienced striker to his squad.
