There will not be a Fandi-Sundram showdown in the Malaysia Cup after Negeri Sembilan, led by former LionsXII coach V Sundramoorthy, were beaten 1-0 by T-Team in a play-off last night at the Shah Alam Stadium.
However, former LionsXII skipper Shahril Ishak will feature in the competition after he led Johor Darul Ta'zim II to a hard-fought 2-1 win over PKNS FC at the Selayang Stadium in the other play-off.
The LionsXII are in the second pot, which means there is a chance of being grouped with JDT II and Malaysian Super League champions JDT I, who include former LionsXII vice-captain Hariss Harun.
The Malaysia Cup will kick off in August.
