Suzuki Cup: Ticket discounts, new kit for fans

Tickets for the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup go on sale today, and a series of discounts are in place to keep them affordable for the general public.

There are four categories of tickets, and the prices range from $18 to $48.

However, the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) is offering a special 15 per cent discount for all three Singapore matches, which will be held at the 55,000-seat National Stadium.

There is also a 10 per cent early bird discount if fans buy their tickets before Nov 20.

This means tickets for Singapore's matches ultimately range from $13.80 to $36.70.

In addition, students aged 16 and below and senior citizens aged 60 and above are eligible for concession tickets, priced at $8.

FAS president Zainudin Nordin said: "Ticket prices were made affordable so that all of us can come together to celebrate the return of the Lions to National Stadium and cheer them on. Let's make the stadium reverberate with the Kallang Roar once again."

Singapore are grouped with Thailand, Myanmar and Malaysia, and tickets for the other three group matches, held at the Jalan Besar Stadium, cost $18 (gallery) and $26 (grandstand).

Singapore co-hosted the biennial tournament in 2007 with Thailand, and matches here were played at the old National Stadium. Then, adult grandstand tickets cost $10, adult gallery cost $6, and children's gallery cost $2 for group and semi-final matches.

The adult prices went up to $15 for grandstand and $7 for gallery for the final between Singapore and Thailand.

Fans can also cheer on the Lions in the new national jersey, which was launched yesterday at the Nike store at Shaw House.

National captain Shahril Ishak and winger Faris Ramli modelled the red home kit and blue away outfit. The jersey is available from Nov 6 at Nike outlets in Shaw House, Paragon and Ngee Ann City for $99.
