Sweet 16 for Man U fan

The St James Wine Bar & Bistro fell into hushed silence when Sergio Aguero put Manchester City ahead on Sunday's Manchester derby.

The Manchester United fans, who made up most of the patrons at TNP's EPL Mania event, could not believe their eyes.

But one of their own let out a yelp of delight. Ironically, Aguero's strike in the 16th minute earned Red Devils fan Sean Lee $160.

He had correctly predicted the time of the first goal in Sunday night's derby.

When asked if he had mixed emotions, he candidly replied: "I felt shiok lah!

"Don't care already after I won money.

"I was hoping Man U would score first, but the way we played today... cannot make it."

It was double joy for Lee and his table.

One of his buddies, ex-colleague Tony Yeo, pocketed a cool $200 for winning a Marouane Fellaini goal celebration contest at half-time.

With a Fellaini-inspired wig, he performed his own version of the Gangnam Style dance.

Lee and Yeo weren't the only United fans who profited from his team's woeful showing.

Karthigeyan was one of two Wine Bar patrons who won a L'Oreal hamper as well as Warrior Football's Gambler products.

Despite proudly wearing a Red Devils jersey, he had predicted City to lead 2-0 at half-time.

When asked if he had lost faith in his own team, Karthigeyan quipped: "We'll pull off a come-frombehind win."

Unfortunately for him, United didn't. msazali@sph.com.sg
