tabla! and Tamil Murasu to launch tabla! Cup and Deepavali Night

The Integration Cup, the golf event organised by SPH newspapers tabla! and Tamil Murasu for the last three years, is getting a new name and a new date.

The event will be rebranded as tabla! Cup from this year and will be played on Oct 27 at the Singapore Island Country Club's New Course.

The golf game will be followed by Deepavali Night, an evening of good food, fun and entertainment at the club's ballroom. The tabla! Cup and Deepavali Night will again be presented by UBS, the Swiss financial services firm.

Said editor-in-chief of the English/Malay/Tamil Media group Patrick Daniel: "The Integration Cup was well received by Indians as well as players from the other communities. This year, we have decided to take it further and make it part of our Deepavali celebrations. We are grateful that UBS, who backed us during the Integration Cup, continues to support us in the tabla! Cup."

Participants in the golf tournament, to be organised by SPH Golf, the group's new golf unit, stand to win attractive prizes and goodie bags, courtesy of sponsors like RSH. To take part, each golfer needs to pay $300 inclusive of the Deepavali Night dinner.

Those not taking part in the golf game can buy tickets for the Deepavali Night priced at $88 per person. They will be eligible for all the lucky draw prizes.

There will also be a charity auction of items like carpets by Eastern Carpets. Money raised will go to the Ramakrishna Boys Home.

Said tabla! editor Patrick Jonas: "tabla! Cup will be a timely event for us as October also marks the seventh anniversary of the newspaper.
