Brunei crashed to their third defeat on the trot in SEA Games football last night when they lost 2-1 to Timor Leste in a Group B encounter at the Bishan Stadium.
Jairo Neto fired the Timorese ahead in the 23rd minute, before Faiq Jefri Bolkiah equalised for Brunei from the penalty spot eight minutes after the hour mark.
Paulo Helber popped up to score eight minutes later to hand Timor Leste their first victory in three matches.
The result leaves Brunei, who are coached by Singaporean Stephen Ng, bottom of Group B and with only a slim chance of advancing to the semi-finals.
