Alex Soosay, one of the most senior figures in Asian football, has resigned following allegations he tried to conceal evidence from a past investigation into corruption at the Asian Football Confederation.
The AFC, which last month suspended Mr. Soosay from his post as general secretary, said Wednesday he had tendered his resignation with immediate effect.
Mr. Soosay wasn't immediately available for comment.
