Vietnam ranks 5th in Asian Women's Volleyball Championship

HA NOI - Viet Nam beat Japan 3-1 today to secure the fifth place of the Asian Women's Volleyball Championship in China.

It is the second win of the Vietnamese athletes, following their 3-2 victory in the group round last week.

Yesterday, Viet Nam defeated the Asian giants 25-23, 25-17, 21-25, 25-19.

It is the best rank of Viet Nam in the continental level.

Previously they twice ranked sixth in the 2003 and 2013 tournaments.

The semi-final round will be organised later today with China playing South Korea and Thailand taking Chinese Taipei.
