GO LOCAL

StarHub aims to broadcast at least 300 hours of local sports content a year.

Apart from coverage of events, there will be a daily half-hour show, SuperSports 360 - featuring Yasmin Abdol Hamid, Kelly Latimer and Elliot Danker.

StarHub CEO Tan Tong Hai said the channel may have more international content initially, but hopes to gradually replace them with more local content.

INTERNATIONAL CONTENT

Premium sports content - like the NBA, golf 's PGA Tour, tennis' ATP World Tour and the German Bundesliga - will also be shown on the relaunched channel.

The NBA pre-season game between the Indiana Pacers and Houston Rockets was broadcasted "live" on the channel at 7.30pm on Thursday.

In general, viewers will get delayed telecasts of other premium sports content.

The channel will also feature sportsthemed general entertainment content, and active lifestyle programming.

MOBILE APPLICATIONS

The pay-TV provider aims to develop mobile applications to enhance the viewing experience of fans.

Termed "second screen technology", the apps may provide live statistics or different viewing angles during sporting events.

Said Tan: "The youth watch programmes differently today - they want to engage others and share their thoughts.

"Hopefully we can bring a breath of fresh air to the traditional way of showing sports."
