Women's world No. 1 Serena Williams has officially qualified for the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global, the world body announced yesterday.
The 32-year-old won five titles this season, the latest in the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati last month.
It was the third straight year the American has won five or more titles in a season.
The four-time winner (2001, 2009, 2012, 2013), who also finished second twice in eight Finals appearances, will defend her title at the Singapore Sports Hub from Oct 17 to 26.
"The WTA Finals is the ultimate goal of the season, and I am excited to be back for another year and defend my title," said Williams.
