Yeung stars for OCBC team

SINGAPORE - OCBC Singapore Pro Cycling Team continued their fine run when Ronald Yeung captured Stage 1 of the Tour International de Setif on Thursday (Singapore time), sealing the team's third overall win in Algeria.

The Hong Kong native's result means that the Singapore outfit have at least a stage podium finish in all five of their races so far in their maiden outing on the Union Cycliste Internationale's (UCI) Africa Tour.

Yeung clocked 2hr 53min and 58sec in the 129-kilometre stage, edging out Artur Shaymuratov of Russian Team 21 by 13 seconds. Thomas Rabou finished fourth, 52 seconds behind his OCBC teammate.

The 25-year-old Yeung will now don the General Classification (GC) leader's yellow jersey and defend it for the remaining two stages of the Tour, set for Friday and Saturday.

The OCBC team have now already matched their total of three UCI Tour stage wins from last year.
