A total of 24 travel agencies have opted out of the next Natas fair and will hold their own.
Their event, with free admission, will be from March 27 to 29 next year, the same dates as the Natas travel fair.
The group, including major agencies, said they were unhappy with the rental costs that Natas charges exhibitors, and the $4 admission fee it charges visitors.
The fair, tentatively named Outbound Travel Fair, will take up 17,000 sq m of space at Marina Bay Sands, about 70 per cent of the floor area of the Natas fair, which is expected to be at Expo.
Natas has organised the biannual travel fair for more than 20 years.
Agencies in this group contributed to 80 per cent of the sales at previous Natas fairs, The Straits Times reported on its website.
