SEPANG - AirAsia has cancelled flights to and from Bali and Lombok for Friday, July 10 after the airports there were closed because of volcanic activity in Mount Raung.
The budget airline said that according to the Notice of Airmen (NOTAM) issued by the regulator, the Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali will be closed from 9.25am to 9.30pm while the Lombok International Airport will be closed from 9.12am to 9.30pm.
AirAsia said they would notify affected guests of their flight cancellations and the options that will be available to them.
"AirAsia is working closely with all relevant authorities and will provide updates if there are any further flights affected apart from on July 10. Guests are advised to check AirAsia's website or social media pages for any further announcements," they said.
Mount Raung in East Java is one of Indonesia's most active volcanoes and has been spewing ash into the air for almost a week, obscuring visibility at the Ngurah Rai airport.
