Airlines offer to waive change fees for Bangkok flights

SINGAPORE - A few airlines have offered to waive change fees for travellers who have booked to fly to Bangkok following yesterday's deadly blast in the Thai capital.

Singapore Airlines and Scoot will be waiving re-booking and re-routing fees for those who are holding tickets, including redemption tickets, for travel to and/or from Bangkok up to Sep 17. The tickets must be issued on or before Aug 18 for SIA customers, and on or before Aug 17 for Scoot customers.

The new travel date should be before Oct 30 and fare top-ups may apply for re-routing.

Tigerair said on its Facebook page today that it is offering a similar waiver for those who are travelling to Bangkok between Aug 18 and Sep 17, though fare differences and all other fees may apply.

Thailand's national airline Thai Airways is also waiving change fees for those who are holding tickets booked on or before Aug 17 for travel to and/or from Bangkok up to Sep 18.
