SINGAPORE - International visitors to Japan can now enjoy domestic flight fares as low as $126 and learn about the country through a comprehensive website as part of a campaign by All Nippon Airways (ANA).
According to the Japan National Tourism Organisation (JNTO), the number of visitors from Singapore to Japan jumped by almost 16 per cent, compared to the same period of between January and September in 2013.
In a bid to attract more visitors to Japan, ANA is offering domestic flights for international visitors at just 10,800 yen (S$126), and re-launched its "IS JAPAN COOL?" website.
The special flight discount is available to all travellers who reside outside of Japan, including both non-Japanese passengers and Japanese nationals with permanent residency overseas. The fares include airport fees and the promotion is valid for travel until March 28, 2015.
"IS JAPAN COOL?" was established by ANA in 2012 and was re-launched in October with a new look and other features. Website visitors can now enjoy greater interactivity on the site and destination promotions if they visit Japan.
Starting with the northern island of Hokkaido as its focus, the site will be updated on a monthly basis until it is a comprehensive resource on everything Japan.
Visitors can find out what are the must-eats and must-sees in Hokkaido, and learn what types of seafood available and attractions to visit such as the lavender fields and ski resorts.
Mr Kenya Inada, senior vice president of marketing at ANA said the website was created to actively promote the attractiveness of Japan through its nature, history and traditions, as well as its modern culture such as manga (comics) and anime.
