AsiaSpa Awards celebrates the best of travel, spa and wellness in Asia

SINGAPORE - The 10th annual AsiaSpa Awards recognised 22 top players in the travel, spa and wellness industry in Asia in a glamorous Japanese-themed gala event in Hong Kong on Nov 12.

Over 400 winners, nominees, industry partners and guests came together to celebrate the region's establishments' achievements in not only luxury standards, but also innovation and ecological awareness in the wellness fields.

Thailand was the award's biggest winner with six of its establishments receiving titles, including the award for Destination Retreat of the Year, which was won by Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary and Holistic Spa, Koh Samui.

The big winners of the night included Maia Spa, Fusion Maia Da Nang in Vietnam, which took home 'Spa of the Year (South-east Asia & the Pacific)', while 'Spa of the Year (North & West Asia)' went to Aman Spa at Amanfayun in Hangzhou, China.

ESPA was awarded Spa Product Line of the Year, and Subtle Energies was recognised as 'Natural Product Line of the Year'.

Velaa Private Island, Maldives, received the award for 'Destination Hotel/Resort of the Year', while Capella Singapore is the 'Urban Hotel of the Year'.

Calling the awards an "absolute success", Vivienne Tang, Editor-in-Chief of AsiaSpa magazine said: "It was an extremely rewarding experience to celebrate this milestone with all the people and brands who have been supporting us over all these years."

The winners took home exquisite trophies provided by Baccarat. The awards ceremony was hosted by Crowne Plaza Hong Kong Causeway Bay.
