Beware of bogus SIA Facebook page advertising travel promos

A bogus Facebook page is having 'giveaways' and 'promotions' using the Singapore Airlines name.

The page claimed to be giving away attractive prizes such as a $500 Singapore Airlines gift card, 10 suite class tickets and a "$10,000 shopping spree to a shopping capital of one's choice".

In one post, it said that winners of one such giveaway would be notified via private messages and encouraged participants to share the post.

However, Singapore Airlines has clarified that the page and its promotions are not set up by them, in response to a Facebook user's query.

They also urged the user not to disclose important personal information.

Stomp contributor Patrick alerted Stomp to the incident and would like to warn everyone about the bogus page.

He said, "SQ had clarified that the site is not related to them and had warned the public to be aware of giving personal information to them."
