Chinese tourist dries bra & panties by placing them on chairs at Thai airport

A Chinese tourist at Chiang Mai airport is making rounds on the internet for the wrong reasons.

She was caught draping her bright pink bra and panties over a total of 6 seats.

The woman was also seen sitting with her feet up over three seats.

She even made herself at home by snuggling in her black sleeping bag and used her phone, ignoring the stares she was getting.

According to Coconuts Bangkok, netizens slammed her for her inappropriate and inconsiderate actions.

One user commented: "Doesn't their country teach them manners?"

The incident occurred about two weeks ago (in January), said the airport's public relation officer.

The officer does not know the exact date, but said that the woman was likely waiting to catch a flight back to China at 9pm, which is the peak waiting time.

The woman had also been told to stow her undergarments, but no further action was taken as it was not illegal and it did not pose a threat to safety.

This incident has also sparked a warning from tourism authorities that tour agencies should curb such inappropriate behavior, according to Bangkok Post.

The president of Chiang Mai Tourism Business Assiociation, Mr Pornchai Jitnavasathien, said that this was the first time an incident like this has happened at the airport's passenger lounge.

The association will ask tour agents and Thai guides to explain to their Chinese clients that such inappropriate behavior will hurt the image of Chinese tourists.

They have also sent a letter to Chiang Mai airport management, asking them to have officials prepared to explain to Chinese tourists that some behavior is deemed unsuitable in Thailand.
