EVA Air wins 3 aviation accolades including world's top 10 airlines

SINGAPORE - Taiwanese carrier EVA Air has started the new year with a bang by winning two top aviation accolades by industry expert AirlineRatings.com and was also rankedthe world's third safest airline by Germany's AERO magazine.

EVA Air was ranked the seventh best airline in the world and received the seven-star rating by AirlineRatings.com for demonstrating excellence in areas such as safety record and standards, in-flight product, passenger options and value for price.

The Taiwan-based carrier also bagged the airline review website's coveted Excellence Award and was named one of the Best-Long Haul Airline Asia/Pacific carriers in the region.

EVA Air was named one of the world's safest full-service airlines by both AirlineRatings.com and AERO magazine.

This is the second year the privately-owned carrier has appeared in AirlineRatings.com's list of safest airlines.

Last year, the Taiwanese carrier was named fifth most safest airline by AERO magazine and rose two spots to third position this year.

According to a statement released by the airline, EVA Air has not had any flight losses or fatalities since it was established in 1989.

EVA Air Chairman MR K.W. Chang said the awards given by knowledgeable and respected agencies are gratifying and shows that the company's efforts to become the world's best airline are headed in the right direction.
