If you are a fan of Britain's royal family, you might be keen to know where they stay during their holidays overseas.

Oyster.com has listed out the hotels where British royalty have stayed in, and are open to commoners like us.

Visiting the US? There are three hotels that are popular choices with members of the royal family including Queen Elizabeth, Queen Elizabeth II and power couple William and Kate.

Queen Elizabeth and Queen Elizabeth II have stayed in Waldorf Astoria, one of the top hotels in New York City. To pay tribute to the royals, the hotel displays a photograph of the Queen in the lobby.

If enjoying the sun and surf is your type of holiday, then it looks like you might share something in common with Prince William and wife, Kate.

The pair stayed at The Beverly Hills Hotel during their post-wedding American tour in 2011, said Oyster.com.

Dubbed as the "Pink Palace, Oyster.com said the decadent escape has welcomed many famous guests such as Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe, and is five minutes from luxury shopping district Rodeo Drive.

In London, you might be surprised to know that the royal family doesn't stay at the Ritz or the Savoy - two of the most famous hotels in the capital.

According to Oyster.com, the royals prefer The Goring, a classic English boutique hotel which has seen members of the family walk through the halls.

The Goring was also the hotel where the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate, stayed the night before her wedding.

With its close proximity to Buckingham Palace, it is used as accommodations for the guests of the royal family.
