SINGAPORE - Another top celebrity has hit the shores of Singapore once again and this time, to pose close to 200m above street level for a gravity-defying photo shoot for British Airways.
Crowned People magazine's Most Beautiful in 2013 for her "timeless look", top American actress Gwyneth Paltrow jetted to Singapore this week to launch British Airways' new A380 superjumbo aircraft which flies between London and Singapore.
The 42-year-old mother-of-two was suspended on a British Airways Club World seat in the middle of Marina Bay Sands' popular infinity pool, while decked out in ultimate Hollywood glamour with a touch of British flair, no less.
Paltrow was dressed in a floor-length teal dress by British designer Safiyaa, complete with heels by Jimmy Choo.
Just like a scene from a Hollywood movie, onlookers were treated with scenes of Paltrow posing for the dramatic photo shoot.
The actress said Singapore has always been a top destination on her wish list, and she is also a big fan of the cuisine here, naming chilli crab as her favourite.
The Oscar winner was first spotted in Singapore earlier and many were curious if she was indeed in town or just a doppelganger.
The New Paper and Stomp reported on netizens tweeting that they had spotted the actress shopping at Marina Bay Sands and Haji Lane.
British Airways currently offers a twice-daily service to London.
To meet the increasing demand, the airline will run three A380 services a week from October 29, starting from $1,380 for World Traveller economy class, inclusive of taxes and surcharges.
The special return flights are valid for travel between October 29, 2014 and July 31, 2015.
The sale ends on November 14, 2014.
