Hello Kitty Park to open in China

ANJI, Zhejiang - An outdoor theme park featuring Hello Kitty, the internationally renowned character created by Sanrio Co., has been completed in Anji in Zhejiang Province, China, and its inauguration ceremony was held on Friday.

The theme park, which is the first outdoor facility featuring Hello Kitty outside Japan, is scheduled to open partially in January next year, according to Sanrio.

Called Hello Kitty Park, the park was constructed by a Chinese real-estate developer that entered into a licensing agreement with Sanrio.

The admission fee is set at around 300 yuan (S$64) for an adult. Although fake goods related to Hello Kitty are widespread in China, Sanrio expects Chinese consumers will appreciate genuine Hello Kitty merchandise.
