PETALING JAYA - The Malaysia Airports Holding Berhad (MAHB) has told AirAsia that the work plan to fix the ground depression problems at KL International Airport 2 (KLIA2) was being staggered over five years to minimise operational disruptions.
The airport operator's managing director Datuk Badlisham Ghazali said AirAsia was probably not satisfied with MAHB's answers on the ground depression problems plaguing KLIA2.
"Before this, we have agreed to disagree on the issue of depression. We have told them the depressions may happen for up to five years and would work to resolve it," Badlisham said on Friday.
"We have started with resurfacing. We've added the concrete slabs and are now using polyurethane compound at bay Q17 but this has to be treated progressively," he added.
Badlisham also denied that he was ignoring AirAsia's concerns.
AirAsia is pursuing a suit against MAHB for claims on losses amounting to RM409.44mil, arguing that MAHB's inefficiency has caused the airline continuous problems.
