Malindo starts Vizag flights

SINGAPORE residents looking to visit Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh have a new choice. Malaysian airline Malindo Air has launched thrice-weekly flights from Feb 15 to this port city on India's east coast via Kuala Lumpur.

To celebrate the launch, Malindo Air is offering introductory fares exclusively for guests from Singapore, starting from $165 for economy class and from $372 for business class for a one-way trip via Kuala Lumpur.

Fares are all inclusive of perks such as meals, in-flight entertainment and free baggage allowance of up to 40kg.

The flight, by Boeing 737 aircraft, leaves Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 9.55pm, arriving in Visakhapatnam at 11.10pm local time.

The return flight will depart Vizag at 11.55pm local time and land in Kuala Lumpur at 6.10am the following day. The airline currently flies four times daily between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

Said the CEO of Malindo Air Chandran Rama Muthy: "Our new routes in the past year have received a very warm reception from the public and, hence, we are introducing more to our current network.

With Vizag, we aim to capture a bigger market for India where it will become our fifth destination in India and seventh in South Asia."
