SINGAPORE - The Singapore government has urged Singaporeans in Yemen to leave the country due to the "fluid and uncertain security situation" there.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs released an advisory earlier today, saying: "Singaporeans are strongly advised to leave the country while it is still feasible. Should the situation further deteriorate, Singaporeans may face difficulties leaving Yemen.
"Many airlines have already stopped flying in and out of Yemen and those still doing so might cancel their flights with little or no notice," the advisory added.
Singaporeans who are in Yemen are advised to immediately contact the MFA Duty Officer (24-hours) at: 6379 8800 / 8855 or mfa_duty_officer@mfa.gov.sg should they require diplomatic assistance.
They should also immediately eRegister at: http://eregister.mfa.gov.sg/ if they have not done so.
