MFA urges S'poreans to take safety precautions when travelling to Sabah

SINGAPORE - Singaporeans are advised to take necessary precautions for their personal safety and purchase travel and medical insurance if travelling to Sabah, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

In a travel advisory updated on June 6, the Ministry said travellers who are in Sabah now should monitor the local news and follow the instructions of Malaysian authorities as a personal safety precaution.

For Singaporeans travelling to Sabah, they are advised to buy comprehensive travel and medical insurance. They should also clarify with the insurer if they have doubts over the terms and conditions of their insurance coverage.

The MFA also encouraged Singaporeans to eRegister with the Ministry at https://eregister.mfa.gov.sg/ to facilitate contact.
