Muslim-friendly apartments open in Tokyo

Tokyo real estate agency Sakura House is now offering Muslim-friendly two-bedroom apartments for short- or long-term stay at their Itabashi branch.

The apartments at Itabashi, which is near Hasune Station on the subway Toei Mita Line, are the first in Japan to cater exclusively to Muslims, according to the agency. The two-bedroom stay is suitable for families or small groups.

All rooms are furnished in a Japanese or Western style with a bed and table in each bedroom. Each unit also comes with cooking and washing facilities such as microwave, television and washing machine.

The bathrooms are also equipped with washlets - electric toilet seats with water spray feature. Wi-Fi is also available for the guests usage.

The monthly fees start at 110,000 yen (S$1,200) which includes utilities, Internet and maintenance.

The Itabashi apartments are conveniently located near the Otsuka and Okachimachi mosques, located less than half hour away on the JR Yamanote line.

The accommodation is also near popular central Tokyo stations such as Otemachi, Ikebukuro, Ueno, Tokyo and Meguro.
