Qatar Airways has added a third daily flight to its Singapore-Doha route to meet increasing demand, the airline said on Tuesday.
It added that the move is an indication of Singapore's strategic importance to Qatar Airways.
"Singapore has long been a key market for Qatar Airways and we are delighted to be able to mount an additional third daily flight on this route. The increased frequency will offer even greater connectivity for Singapore-based passengers when they travel to popular routes in Europe and the Americas," Qatar Airways' group chief executive Akbar Al Baker said.
He also said that by mid-August, all the three flights will be on the new Airbus A350 XWB, a decision that followed positive passenger feedback on the wide-body aircraft.
Qatar Airways is currently the only airline that operates the A350 XWB, which can carry a total of 283 passengers including 36 in the Business Class cabin. The aircraft features in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity, the Oryx One entertainment system which comes with up to 2,000 entertainment options, advanced air-conditioning technology, and LED mood lighting.
Qatar Airways has flights from Singapore to Doha at 2.30am, 7am and 8.25pm daily.
