Thermal scanners up at Penang airport

GEORGE TOWN, Penang - Thermal scanners have been installed at the Penang International Airport since Aug 4 to check the body temperature of arriving air travellers.

Health personnel were seen observing monitors linked to the scanners, which were set up by the state Health Department at the arrival hall.

There were also notices to inform passengers that their body temperatures were being scanned.

Ebola symptoms include fever, muscle pain, vomiting and bleeding, and can appear as long as 21 days after exposure to the virus.
