TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice picks the best all-inclusive resorts

All-inclusive resorts sounds quite inviting doesn't it? Well thanks to TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice awards for them, you can now see which ones thanks to the millions of reviews and opinions of travellers around the globe made it to the top of the pile.

It is based on the offering of a host of lavish amenities including luxurious pools, fine restaurants, and thrilling activities. Great to recharge over the year-end.

Malaysia's Club Med Cherating Beach was placed amongst the top ten Travellers' Choice All-Inclusive Resorts in Asia, coming in 7th.

Maldives took the top three spots and had two more in the Top 10 for Asia.

The awards recognise 105 properties, including the world's top 25, and dedicated lists for seven regions around the globe including Asia, Africa, Europe, Caribbean, Mexico, Spain and Turkey.

1. Kurumba Maldives, Vihamanafushi, Maldives (1,757 reviews)

It is the first private resort established in the Maldives and is conveniently located just a ten-minute speedboat ride from the airport and Male, the capital of Maldives. Lush tropical gardens, white sandy beaches, and a vibrant House Reef are the hallmarks of this classic Maldivian resort. A TripAdvisor reviewer commented, "It's hard to describe in words how beautiful the Maldives are and how lovely this resort is. Being the first resort in the Maldives, it is impeccably run and well-practiced in the art of hospitality."

2. Club Med Kani, Kanifinolhu Island, Maldives (1,445 reviews)

Located on the private island of Kani, Club Med Kani is comprised of 75 Suites on Stilts, which, viewed from above, resemble a giant palm tree growing out across the lagoon. "Having been to Kani and experienced the fantastic service and lively atmosphere of the resort, I'm not sure I would want to risk going anywhere else. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the Maldives," said a TripAdvisor reviewer.

3. Maafushivaru, Southern Ari Atoll, Maldives (521 reviews)

Set in the quaint atoll of Ari, Maafushivaru is a 25-minute seaplane journey from the airport, giving you a bird's eye view of the atoll formations as you arrive. Thatch-roofed villas inspired by local architecture are set amidst the gardens or are poised over the turquoise lagoon. "Lush sands, beautiful coloured marine life, a well-maintained house reef, and employees that acted like they were family," raved a TripAdvisor reviewer.

4. Hotel Mermaid & Club, Kalutara, Sri Lanka (1,027 reviews)

Located in the scenic resort town of Kalutara in Sri Lanka, it had consistently enhanced itself over the years to become the highly acclaimed beach resort it is today. "Lovely hotel and helpful staff. Peaceful location right on the beach. The Sri Lankan people are some of the nicest I have met and made us feel welcome everywhere," commented a TripAdvisor reviewer.

5. Club Med Bali, Nusa Dua, Indonesia (1,886 reviews)

Set on the beautiful island of Bali, Club Med Bali is a beach resort set among rice paddy fields and temples. Resort guests can also see Batur volcano in the distance. A TripAdvisor reviewer commented, "Great holiday, great people, great place. The resort is very nice, the location is great, the programme and activities are fantastic - there was really a lot to do!"

6. Club Med Bintan Island, Bintan Island, Indonesia (1,449 reviews)

Located just south of Singapore in the Indonesian island of Bintan, Club Med Bintan Island offers 308 newly refurbished and well-equipped rooms. Bintan is also a golfer's heaven with several top golf courses to choose from. "What an amazing place. Think of a tropical island paradise and that's what you will experience. But it's the staff that makes your experience extra special," said a TripAdvisor reviewer.

Club Med Cherating Beach is idyllically located on the eastern coastline of Malaysia. Nestled amidst 200 acres (81ha) of lush parkland, the rooms are also situated in traditional Malay houses on stilts.. "If you want to stay in paradise on earth, then I advise you to take your holidays here. This club is exceptional because it is near all the comfort and facilities that the Club offers, yet you'll enjoy nature and the jungle animals in their natural environment," commented a TripAdvisor reviewer.

Encircled by a white powdery beach, Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru's 48 rustic villas are nestled on a coral atoll in the Indian Ocean, promising guests peace and tranquillity. "Not only was the island of exquisite beauty, but also every aspect of the resort, from the beautifully designed villas to the delightfully tasting food and dining, all was utterly sublime," raved a TripAdvisor reviewer.

9. Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives, Centara Grand Island, Maldives (694 reviews)

With 102 villas and suites, Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives has a wealth of activities and facilities for an ideal hideaway for couples and honeymooners, or a fun-filled destination for families. A TripAdvisor reviewer said, "It was absolute luxury and the staff couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and accommodating."

10. Heritage Village Club Goa, Cansaulim, India (714 reviews)

Heritage Village Club Goa is India's first all-inclusive boutique resort.. The resort has 97 rooms and is also only a five-minute walk to Goa's Arossim Beach. "Overall this is a lovely and lively place to visit any time of the year. This is the best all-inclusive boutique resort," commented a TripAdvisor reviewer.
