Wax figures of The Beatles arrive in Singapore

SINGAPORE - The wax figures of The Beatles members Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, George Harrison, and John Lennon will feature in Madame Tussauds Singapore for three months starting this Friday.

In walking poses reminiscent of the English rock band's famous Abbey Road album cover, the wax figures were created in 2012 at the Madame Tussauds headquarters in London to commemorate McCartney's 70th birthday.

"The Beatles have always been a firm all-time crowd favourite at Madame Tussauds with the young and old. Fans in Singapore can now join the 'Fab Four' in recreating the iconic Abbey Road shot," Madame Tussauds Singapore's general manager Craig Connor said via a statement today.

"This is an exciting addition to Madame Tussauds Singapore and part of our plan to ensure that the attraction continues to appeal to visitors from all around the world."

Earlier today, the wax figures were placed on the grass patch outside Raffles Place MRT station, surprising commuters on what is commonly known as April Fools' Day.
