PETALING JAYA - NAJIB Razak should carry on as Malaysia's prime minister because he was elected through a fair system, said opposition Parti Islam SeMalaysia (PAS) president Abdul Hadi Awang.
"He should not succumb to pressure and he should be allowed to solve the problems he is facing. I agree with him that he should not step down and I must say that he should be given a chance to finish his term," he said yesterday.
Mr Abdul Hadi said it was pointless to pressure the Prime Minister to step down due to the controversies the Umno president was allegedly involved in, such as 1Malaysia Development Berhad.
He added that the pressuring of Mr Najib to step down was a scenario that had happened during the leadership of the previous prime ministers.
