Drain

1. For clogged drains, pour half a cup of baking soda (also known as sodium bicarbonate) and one cup of vinegar into the drain. Leave for half an hour and then pour in hot water to clear it up.

Toilet bowl

2. All you need is one cup baking soda, one cup vinegar and a few drops of essential oil (for a nice smell). Pour in the baking soda, then slowly pour in vinegar. Make sure the vinegar covers as much of the bowl surface as possible. Then add essential oil. Brush to scrub the surface and remove rings or stains. Flush.

Window/mirror

3. Most of us will use the water and newspaper method to clean windows or mirrors. But sometimes the newspaper ink can leave a black stain. Instead, mix half a cup of vinegar and half a cup of water in a spray bottle. Spray it on window or mirror and use a sponge or cloth to wipe clean.

Sink and bathroom mildew

4. Mildew is a common problem in the bathroom. To clean, splash white vinegar on it and wait at least 30 minutes before rinsing with warm water. Use a brush to scrub if necessary.

Cutting boards

5. Stains on cutting boards (wood or plastic) are smelly and hard to get rid of. Slice a lemon in half, rub on the surface and wait 20 minutes before rinsing.

Floors

6. For tile floors, use one part white vinegar with two parts warm water in a bucket. Use with a mop or rag to clean floors. There’s no need to rinse off. For wooden floors, mix a quarter cup lemon juice and half cup of olive oil in a spray bottle. Spray on floor and wipe off with a soft cloth. The lemon juice will clean the surfaces of bacteria and give off a fresh scent while the olive oil will restore the shine.

Furniture

7. Combine ¼ cup vinegar with ¾ cup olive oil and little bit of lemon juice. Then dip a soft cloth in the mixture and use to wipe furniture.

Carpet stains

8. Use a mixture of white vinegar and water. Spray on the stain, leave it for few minutes and clean with a brush or sponge using warm soapy water. Fabric softener

9. Combine ¼ cup vinegar with several drops of essential oil and add to the rinse cycle. Your clothes will come out soft and scented.

Faucets

10. To polish faucets, smear them with a little toothpaste. Then brush with a soft cloth until they shine.
