Kids shake things up this June

Some children decided to learn how to make their own bubble tea at a three-day Children's Bubble Tea Entrepreneurship workshop in Discovery Edu Cove in Tampines.

The children got to learn about business in a simplified manner and were taught what to do when starting a bubble tea shop, from the execution of the plan to the preparation of the drinks.

One of the teachers, Mr Mark Tai, 35, said: "When kids buy bubble tea, they don't get to see what goes on in the shop.

Now, they get very excited because they get to prepare it themselves."

Each child was given a tray with the tools and ingredients to prepare his or her own drink.

Qi Fang, 10, said: "The workshop has been so fun. My favourite part was learning how to make the drink and shaking the shaker."

Teacher Sharon Loo, who is in her 30s, said: "There are a lot of other holiday programmes, but I think this one is unique."
