Total of $5 million set aside to help defray costs for companies that adopt best sourcing. -ST

A government scheme to promote best sourcing was launched in July. A total of $5 million has been set aside for the Best Sourcing Early Adopter Scheme.

What it is:

Defrays cost of organisations and companies in both public and private sectors that adopt best sourcing.

How much:

5 per cent of value of the new contract or $75,000, whichever is lower.

Eligibility:

  • Contract must be based on performance standards.
  • It must have a mechanism to monitor performance standards.
  • Bids must be assessed on price and quality.
  • Contractor must raise workers' productivity and improve quality of service.
  • Contractors must provide certified trained workers as well as a remuneration package to reward workers with higher productivity and skills.
