You don't want to end up like FHM Girl Next Door Top 10 finalist Adeline Yeo. Earlier this year, suggestive nude photos of her were leaked and posted online.

So shutterbugs beware.

If you keep your photos on an online photo sharing site, always make sure that the pictures you do not want others to see are properly secured.

According to a report by local Chinese daily Shin Min Daily News, Adeline's photos were compromised when the photographer forgot to properly close his account.

Someone then entered the account and took all the photos, which were then subsequently distributed among Singapore's Netizens.

Some photos even made their way to a popular US web site, according to Shin Min.

Easy to access unsecured accounts

It is easy to let sensitive information fall into the wrong hands when the security of online accounts are compromised.

In many cases, accounts can be accessed and broken into without advanced computer skills. Password hacking tools, which are simple to install and operate, can easily be found online and pages hidden behind weak password can give in to these programs within hours.

When users fail to close their accounts or sign out properly, they virtually open all their information to the world. This might have been the case for the photographer who possessed Adeline's nude photos.

Photos initially escaped media attention

The photos show Adeline Yeo clad in a skimpy version of a schoolgirl's uniform consisting a wraparound top and a short plaid skirt. The pictures seem to have been taken in series - with Adeline slowing stripping herself of the various articles of clothing and posing suggestively with a teddy bear.

Several blogs writers claimed that Adeline's nude photo leak escaped the media's attention because of the Edison Chen sex photo scandal, which happened around the same time.

A Shin Min reporter also spoke to a webmaster of a New York web site, who was familiar with the matter. The webmaster said that the series of photos were probably taken while Adeline was still working as a nude model overseas.

The photos also include a watermark with the copyright symbol and the photographer's nickname.

While some Netizens argued that the woman in the offensive pictures might just happen to be a nude model who looks like the real McCoy, most believed that the pictures were real.

They pointed out that the tattoos in Adeline's FHM pictures and the one on the woman in the nude photos are similar, and are thus very sure that woman in the pictures are one and the same.
