Singapore's largest citizen journalism media platform will now reach an even wider audience with the launch of its new mobile portal.

The new Stomp initiative that will be launched today offers busy users on the move the same accessibility and interactivity computer users enjoy.

The portal allows mobile-device owners to access Stomp, where they can read the latest articles, post threads on forums and even view clubbing pictures.

Boasting easy accessibility, Stomp's mobile portal requires only a mobile device and an Internet connection, allowing users to surf Stomp wherever they are. It takes its content from the main website and is divided into three content areas - Singapore Seen, TalkBack and Club Stomp.

Keeping users in mind, Stomp's mobile portal was designed to be easily understood by individuals. For this reason, the portal can be accessed with just a few clicks, and navigation is straightforward with an easy-to-use interface.

"People living in this fastpaced country want to access news and information anywhere, at a convenient time to them," said Mr Nicklaus Tan, 29, a regular Stomp user. "Stomp's new mobile portal not only allows users to access the site at their own convenience, it also encourages people to get more involved in citizen journalism," he added.

While Singapore Seen offers the latest stories consisting of photos and videos sent in by citizen journalists, the TalkBack section allows users to post threads and chat with other users on a variety of forum topics, such as "Artsy Fartsy Stuff" and "Yummy Tummy".

Club Stomp presents the latest on the clubbing scene in Singapore, featuring news on upcoming parties to recent pictures of events which have been covered.

Like the Stomp website, all content on the portal will be updated daily, so users can expect fresh, up-to-date content.

The Stomp mobile portal is the latest initiative by The Straits Times New Media Unit which also launched RazorTV, Singapore's first web TV service, last month.

It is accessible at mobile. stomp.com.sg on a wide range of mobile devices.
