Seeking clients around the Raffles Place area is probably a good idea for most business people, as the CBD area is home to many offices.

However, this man decided to do it with an added twist.

Calling himself the "Beggar Blogger", Nur Saheed went around Raffles Place with a cardboard sign attached to his chest at lunchtime on April 13.

The message? "Will blog for cash".

The 29-year-old wrote to citizen journalism website STOMP, saying that he had been chased away by security guards. His antics, he claimed, were a desperate marketing gimmick for his Internet services business in these tough times.

"Business has not been so good since 2008 and I am doing this as a way to get new clients," he explained.

The "Beggar Blogger" also said that he managed to garner some interest in his business during his Raffles Place escapade.
