Q: I am about 50 years old, and my wife is 36.

This is my second marriage. We have been trying very hard for a baby since for past nine months but we have not been successful. Please tell me where can I get help.

A: I don't have many details here but as you pointed out, you and your wife's ages are 50 and 36 respectively. If a couple in that age group still have difficulty conceiving after 6 months, we would normally advise that they seek medical attention and evaluation as soon as possible to avoid any futher delay since fertility will reduce with age.

A visit to the gynaecologist with your wife would be a start.
