Ronald and Jiawei not together again
It seems that Ronald has gone out of his way to avoid the media and ex-fiance Li Jiawei. At an earlier event to present them and another Team Singapore athlete with watches sponsored by luxury watchmaker Omega, he was not around to receive his watch. It was to be the first event that would have seen ex-sporting couple Ronald Susilo and Li Jiawei appear together in the public eye again.
At the ceremony held at Paragon earlier this afternoon, three Team Singapore athletes, table tennis player Li Jia Wei, badminton player Ronald Susilo and shooter Lee Wung Yew were each to be presented with an exclusive Olympics Omega watch from luxury Swiss watchmaker, Omega.
But what would have been an awkward situation was eventually avoided, as it became apparent that Ronald will not be present after all. Instead, he was represented at the event by his brother. Meanwhile, all present, including Guest-of-honour, Minister for Defence and Singapore National Olympic Council president Teo Chee Hean wore bright smiles for the camera.
No embarassing boo-boos after all.
