Wedding bells are set to ring for MediaCorp actors Michelle Chia and Shaun Chen.
Chen, 30, said at a press conference on Wednesday that both he and Chia, 32, want to wed at the end of next year on an auspicious date yet to be picked, Lianhe Wanbao reported yesterday.
But he said he has not proposed to her yet. 'I hope to do that in a restaurant.'
He added that it would take a five-figure sum of cash and not a diamond ring to get his girlfriend of four years to accept his proposal. 'She thinks a diamond ring is wasteful when she can use the money to go travelling. So that's terrible. But we're a couple and I'm not particular about it,' he said.
Meanwhile, actress Jesseca Liu, 29, has admitted dating Taiwanese actor Wing Fan, 28. She said Fan has met her parents in Malaysia, according to Wanbao.
They hit it off while filming MediaCorp Raintree Pictures' movie Untold Beauty in Singapore last year.
