Traffic along Marina Boulevard was distrupted on Wednesday when authorities closed the road after a small road section caved in during morning rush-hour.

The hole, measuring 5 metres wide and 2.5 metres deep, was found at about 9.10am on Marina Boulevard, next to the slip road which leads to East Coast Parkway, where construction works for the Common Services Tunnel (CST) are taking place.

No one was hurt in the incident, said a statement from the Urban Redevelopment Authority on Wednesday.

Marina Boulevard was temporarily closed and traffic was diverted as a precautionary measure, it said. The road has since opened to the public.

URA and professional engineers appointed for the Common Services Tunnel have assessed the road subsidence and established that there is no risk to drivers or the general public
