GREENSBURG, USA - Honda Motor Co Ltd supports measures to help the U.S. auto industry but cannot say specifically what the U.S. government should provide in terms of assistance, a spokesman said on Monday.

"The auto industry is comprised of individual companies that are closely and deeply integrated in terms of the supply base ...

Therefore Honda would support measures that would maintain the stability and viability of the auto industry, but what those specific measures must be are not for us to determine," Honda assistant vice-president of corporate affairs Jeffrey Smith said in an interview.
